Discography
Adam Rich - Virgin Freak - LM0001
The first release on the label in 1994 was a cassette, as they were popular and affordable to make at the time. Recorded on a Tascam 4 track in Cleveland. 100 copies were made and brought to Bowling Green State University where Adam was starting his third year.
7 of the 8 songs are instrumental guitar highly inspired by Joe Satriani and Eric Johnson. The drum set on the cover was a gift for Adam's 16th birthday. Today, at 52, he still uses them to record with. The guitar in Adam's right hand was purchased when he was 18 and he still owns it. And yes, the carpet where the photo was taken is still the same.
The title “Virgin Freak” came from a list of suggestions on a sheet Adam posted on his dorm room door asking people to write down possible titles.
Adam Rich - Flavor Savor - LM0002
The second release on the label in 1997. Recorded in 3 different locations, it is the first collaboration with musician Jared Levengood who sang and played drums on 2 songs as well as co-wrote some lyrics. 4 of the 8 songs have vocals while the rest are instrumentals. Adam even tried his hand at singing, and we see why he stopped.
The term Flavor Savor refers to Adam's goatee, which is shown extremely close up on the cover.
The cassette was released 6 months before Adam graduated college.
Tadpol - Small Pond - LM003
1999 4 song EP debut release from Tadpol, a “zen-metal” band from Cleveland.
Adam Rich - Foundation - LM004
This 2002 release is Adam Rich's first ever CD. Recorded on the best Tascam cassette 8 track PortaStudio at the time, it features Adam's cousin's Mark and Hal guest drumming on some songs, as well as guest vocals by Adam's college band singer. As the label was trying to do everything themselves, the artwork was printed in-house and the label bought a CD duplicator. Barcodes were printed on stickers. A truly DIY effort
This was also Adam's first attempt at doing graphic design, as the two cassettes were designed by a professional designer.
